Methodology
OXYN Insights uses a combination of established open-source scanning engines and OXYN-native checks to produce each review.
Our principle: engines measure, OXYN interprets and presents.
The six dimensions and what they measure:
Performance — How efficiently does the site deliver content and become usable? Measured via Core Web Vitals: Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), Total Blocking Time (TBT), Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), Speed Index, and Time to Interactive.
Accessibility — How usable is the site for people with disabilities? Checks cover WCAG-oriented criteria including colour contrast, image alt text, button names, language declaration, and keyboard navigation.
SEO — How discoverable and understandable is the site to search engines? Includes meta descriptions, canonical URLs, robots.txt validity, hreflang, and structured data.
Technical Quality — How well is the site implemented according to modern web standards? Covers HTTPS adoption, HTTP/2, security headers, and implementation hygiene.
Functionality — Does the site actually do what it is supposed to do for its audience? Assessed relative to the site's declared purpose and sector. A basic presence site and a full-service portal are not scored on the same scale.
Security — How effectively does the site protect transport, browser interactions, and exposed attack surfaces? Includes TLS configuration, security headers, and certificate validity. Detailed security findings are restricted to verified site owners.
Scoring: Scores range from 0 to 100. 90 and above is good. 50 to 89 needs improvement. Below 50 is poor.
Every finding carries a severity (Critical, Warning, or Informational) and a confidence level (High, Medium, or Low). Observed facts are distinguished from inferred interpretations.
Every scan carries a methodology version. When methodology changes, historical scores remain attributed to the version under which they were produced.
Engines used: Lighthouse (Google), axe-core (Deque), Mozilla Observatory, testssl.sh, Wappalyzer, OXYN Native.
